I am a freelance photographer, working both with film and digital techniques.

Although I sometimes work in color, especially for assignments, I have a clear personal preference for black & white photography.
It is as much about the aesthetics of the medium, focusing on tonality and contrast, as the much more flexible nature of monochrome processing and printing.

I am mostly self-taught, although throughout the 2010s I took numerous classes at San Francisco's Harvey Milk Photo Center, and learned from many friendly people there.

I also run Héliographe, a small studio designing high quality software for photographers and visual artists.
